Isn't the need for omega 3 fatty acids actually higher during breastfeeding?

Omega 3 fatty acids are an essential companion during pregnancy and breastfeeding and it is therefore important to ensure an adequate supply. Our limit on the amount for pregnant and breastfeeding women is not because these fatty acids are unsafe or harmful in the declared dosage, but is a regulatory safety measure for DHA and EPA rich oils from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. as this is still considered a so-called novel food. So please follow your doctor's recommendation to adjust the dosage to your needs.
