Can the iron capsules be opened and the contents consumed as they are?

In principle, the capsules can be opened and the powder consumed without the capsule shell. However, it is recommended that you consume them immediately after opening, as the contents can oxidize quickly. In addition, the contents should best be consumed separately so that absorption is not inhibited by additional substances.
In particular, iron should not be combined with the following foods: foods with tannins such as green and black tea, coffee and red wine, foods containing phosphates such as cola, sausage, processed cheese, foods containing calcium such as milk or hard cheese and foods containing oxalate such as rhubarb, spinach and beetroot - these inhibit iron absorption.
The vitamin C contained in iron is also sensitive to heat, which is why we recommend that you prefer liquids and foods that are cold to lukewarm.
