How long should the time gap be between consuming zinc and iron?

You could basically say that the longer the better. Since this is sometimes difficult to reconcile with everyday life, it is an absolutely legitimate question. Since both are best consumed on an empty stomach, the passage through the stomach should be relatively quick, which is why about 1 hour should be enough. Our tip: iron in the morning before breakfast or in the morning between breakfast and lunch, zinc before going to bed.
Note: This recommendation can actually be applied to all products that should be consumed on an empty stomach or that interact quickly.
