Is the quality of mega 3 algae oil comparable to fish oil?

Often only vegetable oil containing omega-3 (e.g. linseed oil) is compared with fish oil. It is then said that fish is preferable because of the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA it already contains, as vegetable omega-3 sources (e.g. linseed oil) only contain alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). This must first be converted into DHA and EPA. There is still no precise agreement on the exact conversion rates, but they tend to be low.
This comparison is flawed because EPA and DHA can now be obtained from microalgae. These can be cultivated under controlled conditions, free from measurable environmental toxins (e.g. pollutants, heavy metals and PCB'S). Without negative impact and overfishing of already polluted marine ecosystems. Microalgae can also bind large quantities of CO₂.
Algae oil with DHA and EPA is therefore at least equal to fish oil in terms of quality, if not better. But the absolute, non-negligible advantage: you can avoid the fish route and thus protect nature and animals.
