The drug-extract ratio (DEV) defines the mass of the drug used in relation to the extract obtained without the use of additional excipients.
In general, the following extract forms can be distinguished:
- Fluid extracts or liquid extracts - ratio 1:1 or 1:2
- Tinctures (alcoholic extracts) - ratio 1:7 to 1:9 or 1:4 to 1:4.5
- Viscous (Spissum) extracts - e.g. ratio 3-6:1
- Dry extracts - ratio 5 to about 50:1
Our Maca drops are a liquid extract and have a drug-extract ratio of 1:1.
